Abstract

1350956 Lubricating bearings BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP Ltd 28 Sept 1972 [5 Oct 1971] 46197/71 Heading F2A A bearing assembly comprises a bearing housing 6, a bearing 3, at least one rupturable container 9 for lubricant, means for rupturing the container and means for causing pressure to be exerted against the container so that when it is ruptured, lubricant is urged towards the bearing. There may be a plurality of containers each of which may be ruptured separately by means of a heating element 15. The container may be pressurized by means of a sealed bag 11 which contains gas at a greater pressure than the surroundings.
