Abstract

1349962 Sanitary napkins KIMBERLYCLARK CORP 30 April 1971 [8 May 1970 (2)] 12506/71 Heading A5R A sanitary napkin 13 comprises an absorbent pad (14), Figure 1a (not shown), enclosed in a fluid pervious non-woven wrapper overlapped at points 12, 12a with pressure-sensitive adhesive disposed on one surface 11 of the napkin, the adhesive being arranged in at least two narrow strips 15a, 16a extending longitudinally of the napkin surface and centrally disposed thereon. The strips are covered by a removable, protective release sheet 17. Heat and pressure are applied to the napkin and sheet to increase the strength of attachment of the adhesive to the napkin surface while reducing the strength of attachment of the adhesive to the protective release sheet.
