Abstract

1344928 Feeding workpieces WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT "7 OKTOBER" BERLIN VEB 5 May 1971 13223/71 Heading B3D [Also in Division B8] An arrangement for feeding annular workpieces 13<SP>11</SP>, particularly for internal grinding, comprises two pivotable workpiece handling means 1, 4, one of which 1 supports a workpiece 13<SP>1</SP> in a preloading position, Fig. 3 (not shown), as a previous workpiece 13 is being ground, while the other 4 co-operates to transfer the workpiece 13<SP>1</SP> to a grinding position, Fig. 6 (not shown), while the previous workpiece 13 is ejected, the handling means 1, 4 being actuated by a common cam 21. The means 1, 4 are pivoted between parallel plates 11, 12 about supports 27, 33 through lever linkages 22-27, 28-33 including adjustable stroke articulating means 24, 28, and the workpiece 13<SP>1</SP> is transferred from the supporting means 1 to the transfer means 4 at the intersection of the paths swept by respective strips 2, 3 and clamps 5, 6, adjustable for different diameter workpieces, of the means 1, 4. With the workpiece 13<SP>1</SP> held between the strips 2, 3 and a rail 7, on rotating the cam 21 the means 4 is pivoted to raise the previous workpiece 13 from engagement with locating shoes 9, 10, Fig. 4 (not shown), rotation of the means 1 causing the strip 3 to eject the workpiece 13 on to a discharge rail 8, and the workpiece 131 than to drop between the clamps 5, 6. Return pivoting of the means 4 locates the workpiece 13<SP>1</SP> against the shoes 9, 10 for grinding by a wheel W, while a further workpiece 1311 is supplied to the means 1 from a channel 14.
