Abstract

1341644 Shrink packaging SCHWEPPES Ltd 5 Dec 1972 [20 Dec 1971] 59014/71 Heading B8C A shrink-wrapped package made up from a film 1 or films 1 and 2 of heat sealable material and which is closed at each end or side 3, 3<1>, is provided with an opening 4 at each side or end for handling purposes, the opening being reinforced along at least one edge by an additional layer 5 of material. As shown, the layer 5 may be provided by a fold or folds along the edge or edges of the material or by a separate strip applied to the edge or edges. Where the layer is formed by a fold, a tape or thread (10), Fig. 2 (not shown) may be provided.
