Abstract

1341245 N-Alkyl-N<SP>1</SP>-aryl substituted guanidines VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLE. DOVATELSKY INSTITUT KHIMICHESKIKU SREDSTV ZASCHITY RASTENY 8 July 1971 32049/71 Heading C2C N-Alkyl-N<SP>1</SP>-aryl substituted guanidines of the general formula in which where -R is H, -CH 3 , -C 2 H 5 , -n-C 3 H 7 or -i-C 3 H 7 ; -R<SP>1</SP> is -CH 3 , -C 2 H 5 , -i-C 3 H 7 , -n-C 4 H 9 , -i-C 4 H 9 , -tert-C 4 H 9 , or -n-C 5 H 11 ; each X is the same as or different from any other X; and each -X is -H, -Cl, -Br, -CH 3 , -OCH 3 , -NO 2 or -CF 3 are prepared by condensation of either (a) monoarylcyanamides with aliphatic amine hydrochlorides or (b) dialkyl cyanamides with aromatic amine hydrochlorides. The compounds may also be prepared by desulphurization of N-alkyl-N<SP>1</SP>-aryl-substituted thioureas and by treating the resultant carbodiimides with ammonia to obtain the compound in the form of free bases. Compound claimed per se N,N- diethyl-N<SP>1</SP>-phenyl guanidine. The compounds have fungicidal properties.
