1,239,083. Ethylene copolymer compositions. ESSO RESEARCH & ENG. CO. 4 July, 1968 [31 July, 1967], No. 60785/70. Divided out of 1,239,082. Heading C3P. [Also in Division C5] A copolymer comprising ethylene and C 3 -C 18 alpha-olefins or propylene and . C 4 -C 18 alphaolefins and having (a) an ethylene content within the range between 70 and 91 mole per cent; (b) a degree of crystallinity less than 25%; (c) an #M w /#M n ratio less than 4.0, and (d) a viscosity average molecular weight of 10,000 to 200,000 is used as a lubricating oil additive in solution at a concentration of 5 to 50% in a hydrocarbon.
