Abstract
1,235,864. Making cement. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT - DEUTZ A.G. 30 Aug., 1968 [1 Sept., 1967], No. 41596/68. Addition to 1,206,193. Heading C1H. [Also in Division F4] In producing cement from the gypsum sulphuric acid process in a rotary kiln preceded by a two stage preheater, through which waste kiln gases flow, raw material containing carbon is introduced into the first stage 2, some of the CaSO 4 (as gypscous stone, dihydric gypsum or waste gypsum) is supplied to the second stage 3, whilst the rest is predried or preburned and supplied to the first stage. Correction materials, if necessary, are supplied to stage 2. Each stage 2 and 3 has an associated heated mill 12 and 14. In the apparatus in Fig. 2 gypsum is processed in a gravity shaft preheated by supplying slurry to the first stage 23a from which some passes via 25, 26 and 5 to the second stage 3 of the kiln preheater, the remainder passing via 24, 23b, 27 and 4 to the first stage 2. Part 22 is the gravity shaft preheater furnace.
