Abstract
1,234,924. Hydraulic motor control circuits. DEERE & CO. Jan. 17, 1969 [Jan. 17, 1968], No. 2867/67. Heading F1P. In a hydraulic motor control circuit comprising a constant volume pump 15 Fig. 1, a closed centre control valve 24 having a first open position whereby pump delivery is connected to one side of the motor cylinder 25 and having a second closed position, and having a pump valve 1 which when the control valve 24 is closed is held open by direct action of pump delivery through lines 21, 33 which are thus connected to a return reservoir 29, the dump valve is moved to its closed position by by pressure of fluid having passed through the open control valve whereby pump delivery is free to flow at all times through either the control valve or the dump valve. The circuit also includes an open centre valve 17 for controlling a further motor 18 and a spring-biased pilot valve 3 having an orifice 11 therein and a check valve 4 which together with the dump valve are assembled in a housing 22 as shown in Fig. 2. Also the outlet side 26 of the valve 24 is connected at a point upstream of the cylinder 25 by a line 40, check valve 6 and restrictor 14 to a pilot line 41 leading to one end of the dump valve 1 and to an orifice 13 controlled by the pilot valve 3. In operation and with valve 24 closed, pump delivery passes through the opencentre valve 17 and line 21 to housing 22, an annular groove 44 and line 33 thereby connecting dump valve 1 to a line 43 leading to the return 29. On moving valve 24 to its open position either manually or by a servo-linkage 48, fluid passes through lines 40, 41 to a chamber behind the dump valve 1 and through an orifice 12 in said valve 1 thereby causing valve 1 to be seated. The resulting pressure rise in line 33 increases flow through orifice 11 resulting in pilot valve 3 being moved to the left so as to uncover orifice 13. Fluid then flows from line 21 through orifice 13 and increased flow through orifice 11 unseats valve 5 and allows a large flow through line 23, valve 24 and a check valve 27 to the cylinder 25. Return of valve 24 to its closed position results in the opposite sequence of events and opening of dump valve 1 to its by-pass position.
