Abstract

1,233,385. Hook fasteners. OVERHEAD DOOR CORP. 22 Nov., 1968 [14 Dec., 1967], No. 55599/68. Headings E2A and E2B. The hook-bolt 47 on a vertically movable rear-door of a van has a cammed inner surface 51, engages a roller-keeper 28, and is biased into engagement by a spring 52 to prevent rattling. The actuating handle 43 is pivoted on the same bolt 35 as the hook-bolt. It is biased up into the disengaging position by a spring 36 but is locked down by manually set bolts 63 and 79. The counterclockwise or fastening movement of the lever 43 is limited by a stop 44 engaging a stop-flange 46. The bolt 63 is pivoted at 64 and is spring-loaded into its locking position, shown, in which it engages pin 44. The bolt 63 is unlatched by manual pressure on end 66. The other bolt 79 at the end of the arm 43 has an arc 91 blocking upward movement of the arm and it also has an ear 86 facing a similar ear 84 on the arm, both being pierced to receive a tying band (94, Fig. 1, not shown). Additional location of the arm 43 is provided by a pin 97 engaging in a fixed hole 96.
