Abstract

1,232,830. Enamelling stoves. B. H. LEWIS. 19 Nov., 1969 [26 Sept., 1968], No. 45785/68. Heading F4W. [Also in Division H5] A portable electric kiln, for copper enamelling kits for use in the home or in schools and used in producing comparatively small enamelled articles such as jewellery, comprises a dish-like metal casing 1, mounted on legs 2 and containing a heating element 4 embedded in ceramic 3, and a co-operating cover 10 with viewing holes 11 and a flat top surface 13 upon which an article can be placed after enamelling so as to be heated by residual heat sufficiently to melt solder for the attachment of a pin or link to the article. The viewing holes 11 also allow the performance of the enamelling operation known as "scrolling". Wires 5 from the heating element ends leave via a connection box 7 with a removable lid 7a.
