Abstract

1231710 Coating apparatus C E COOK 18 March 1970 [18 March 1969] 14192/69 Headings B1R and R4 A spray booth comprises a wall 1 which divides the booth into a working chamber 2 and cleaning chamber 3, a tray 9 which provides a liquid screen 18 down the wall 1 which runs into tank 4, an overflowing tray 7 which provides a second liquid screen 21, an extractor fan 17 which draws air through the liquid screens 18, 21 and a deflector plate 13 which directs the air-flow into the surface of the liquid in the tray 7. A second tray 8 and a second deflector 14 may be provided as shown and liquid is fed to trays 8 and 9 through pipes 11, 12 but if the tray 8 is omitted liquid may be fed at a lower level directly into tray 7. Liquid is pumped by a pump 6 from the tank 4 to the supply pipes 11, 12. Air-flow baffle plates 16 are provided in the upper portion of the cleaning chamber.
