Abstract
1,230,990. Full wave rectifier assemblies. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 15 Oct., 1968 [3 Nov., 1967], No. 50009/67. Heading H1K. In a full wave rectifier assembly a number of rectifiers equal to the number of phases in the supply are attached by their anodes to one terminal plate 27, while an equal number are attached by their cathodes to a terminal plate 28 spaced therefrom along the axis of mounting bolt 21. Leads extending axially from the cathodes and anodes respectively of the two sets of diodes are attached to the appropriate one of a number of phase plates, in the illustrated cases 31, 33, 34, axially spaced on one side of the terminal plates. The phase plates are split as shown so as to allow relative axial movement of the leads attached to the separated parts. In the arrangement shown the phase plates are arcuate, each subtending an angle of less than 120 degrees, and the fingers on the outer parts are cranked inwards to lie in the same plane as those on the central plate. The plates may, however, be more extensive in which event plates 31, 32 must be suitably apertured as are terminal plates 28, 29 to allow leads to pass to plate 33. The additional diodes shown on terminal plate 29 provide an auxiliary rectified supply.
