1,227,398. Coatings. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 13 Aug., 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 38598/68. Heading B2C. [Also in Division C3] Substrates such as metal, wood, paper, glass, ceramics, stone or concrete are coated with a lacquer by spraying or brushing and air-drying, suitably at 15 to 30‹C., wherein the lacquer is obtained by after-treating a copolymer of unsaturated monomers, one of which contains an epoxy group, with a drying fatty acid and then a dicarboxylic acid anhydride. In Examples, glass or steel sheets are coated by spraying with an after-treated styrene-methylmethacrylate or ethyl acrylateglycidyl (meth) acrylate terpolymer, compounded with such ingredients as xylene TiO 2 , calcium, lead and cobalt napthenates, ethyl glycol, butanonoxime, silicone oil and turpentine oil.
