Abstract

1,227,343. Burners. AIROIL BURNER CO. (GB) Ltd. 9 April, 1968 [11 April, 1967], No. 16645/67. Heading F4T. A burner for liquid or gaseous fuel or a combination of both includes a main housing 4 with an air inlet 6 and damper 7 and a burner head which comprises a funnel-shaped shroud 8 fixed to a support tube 9 extending into the housing, the shroud 8 being attached to a gas inlet tube 10 which with a tube 14 forms an annular passage 16 for gaseous fuel and liquid fuel being supplied via an injector 15 and tube 17 to a nozzle 28. Circumferentially arranged air passages 20, 21 located in the widest part of shroud 8 are directed forwardly and obliquely to the burner axis and air passing through passages 22 in the narrow part of the shroud keeps the burner nozzle free from liquid fuel.
