Abstract

[Also in Divisions B1 and G1] In a concrete preparation plant (see Division G1) the top of a cement silo is provided with a tubular opening 40 closed by a circular cover 41. A central boss 49 on the cover pivotally supports a pair of parallel levers 47 which at one end are pivotally supported by a bracket 45 on the silo and to the other end of which is pivotally connected a handle 53 which is moveable between a "closed" position (shown in full lines) and on "open" position (shown in chain dotted lines). A bolt 56 which is pivotally connected to the handle and provided with a block 57 which engages under a pair of lugs 59 connected to the silo when the handle is in its closed position provides an over-centre locking arrangement which is released when the handle is moved to the "open" position. A seal 44 which abuts the tubular opening 40 is provided between two flanges 42, 43 on the cover 41.
