Abstract

1,208,619. Pistons. ROOTES MOTORS Ltd. 1 July, 1969 [4 July, 1968], No. 32016/68. Heading F2T. In a piston comprising a crown 10 and a skirt which is formed with gudgeon pin bearings 15, 16 and a groove 14 for an oil scraper ring (not shown), passages 17-20 in the skirt connect the bearings 15, 16 with the surface of the skirt below the groove 14 whereby, in use, oil collected by the scraper ring is fed to the bearings. The passages 19 and 20 open into recesses 21 and 22 communicating with the groove 14.
