Abstract

1,204,566. Cartons. AKERLUND & RAUSING A.B. 27 Nov., 1968 [29 April, 1968], No. 56332/68. Heading B8P. A tray-like carton made from a plastics coated blank by tucking or pleating comprises at least one corner, the tuck or pleat at the corner being so folded that part thereof externally of the corner forms a corner supporting rib. The edges of the carton project as a flange extending outwardly fully round the carton. In the construction shown the corner forming portion of the blank comprises two equal triangular panels and a smaller triangular panel 6, each panel being provided with a ffange part. The two equal triangular panels are folded and the major portion of the fin produced thereby abuts externally (Fig. 3, not shown) or internally against one of the carton walls whereas the minor portion of the fin together with the smaller triangular panel forms the supporting rib. An eight-sided carton is also disclosed (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) having the above form of corner.
