Abstract

1299015 Wet press for papermaking machines KARLSTADS MEKANISKA WERKSTAD AB 13 March 1970 12061/70 Addition to 1284119 Heading D2A A wet paper web 13 is passed through the nip 11 of two press rolls 7 and 9, each enclosed in endless felt or wire cloth loops I and 3, one of the press rolls having a stationary suction zone 15 immediately or shortly after the nip which serves to retain web 13 on loop 3. A guide roll 21 situated outside both loops can be adjusted to two positions A and B: at position A it guides the loops and web over the suction zone, to facilitate threading the press at start up; at position B it guides loop 1 away from the web before the suction zone.
