Abstract

1297263 Caprolactam recovery COURTAULDS Ltd 14 April 1970 [15 April 1969] 19136/69 Heading C2C #-Caprolactam is recovered from the dehydrated washings of a polycaproamide process by distilling the #-caprolactam from the washings, scrubbing the #-caprolactam vapour with molten #-caprolactam containing an involatile base and condensing the scrubbed #-caprolactam vapour. In the example a 2% solution of sodium hydroxide in #-caprolactam is employed as the scrubbing medium.
