Abstract

129,636. Mauselin, A. July 12, 1918, [Convention date] Void [Published under Sect, 91 of the Act]. Micrometer eyepieces ; micrometersystems ; optical systems, - Fig. 1 shows the invention applied to a stereo-comparator, but it can be equally used in stereoscopic range-finders and adapted for use in microscopes or other instruments wherein a series of images is or may be brought into coincidence or compared with measuring marks. According to the invention, the projected images of the points to be measured are compared with the images of a measuring mark produced by substantially the same imaging system. As shown, the points under observation on the plates P<1> P<2> are imaged on the micrometer plate M and observed through eyepieces; w<1>, w<2>; the measuring images being produced in the same plane from a central marking on the plate by means of the lens 0 reflecting prism m<@> and lens 0 again. To determine lack of adjustment, prisms such as #<1>, #<2>are employed by means of which the whole system, except the lenses L<1> or L<2>, is used to image the measuring and these images are compared with the mark viewed directly. In this case, the plate must be transparent in parts so as to allow a, direct view of the mark.
