Abstract

1295506 Venetian blind tilt mechanism LEVOLOR LORENTZEN Inc 19 Oct 1970 [24 Nov 1969] 49483/70 Heading E1J In a venetian blind worm-gear tilt shaft mechanism the gear 60 is mounted by its shaft 63 in bearings 53, 54 in the sides 43, 44 of a shell 40 adapted by means of flanges 45, 46 to be fixed to the bottom of a head channel 20 as by clinched tabs 20i; and the worm 73 integral with non-slip pulley 76 is mounted on a stub shaft 91 fixed to a second shell 80. The front shell 80 is rocked toward the shell 40 in attaching the shell 80 to shell 40 and the shells are formed with interengaging formations 49a, 50a (83a, 84a) at the bottoms of the shells and with latches (89a, 90a) engaging in holes 55, 56 at the tops of the shells, to secure the two shells together. The shell 80 and head channel 20 are perforated for the passage of the pulley-engaged cord 100. The worm-gear and pulley unit are of plastics and the shells are of stamped sheet metal, e.g. steel.
