Abstract

1293236 Folding closure DYNAFLAIR CORP Ltd 16 Nov 1970 54469/70 Heading EIJ A protective slidable folding grille type closure comprises a foldable curtain 1 constituted by a plurality of support rods 81 and a plurality of panels 87 each having tubular sections 97 along opposite vertical sides and mounted on the rods 81 to form an open pattern as shown in Fig. 1, the curtain panels being suspended by selected rods 81 from an extensible hinge 15 and hangers 65 slidable along an overhead track 17, one vertical side of the curtain being connected to a fixed frame member 9, and the other vertical side being connected to a movable frame member 21 which is suspended from a hanger. The hinge 15 (Fig. 9, not shown) comprises a chain of links 31 connected at their ends by pivot pins 33 and secondary hinges each comprising a pair of links 34 joined at one end by a pivot pin 36, the free end of each link 34 being pivoted to the centre of respective links 31. The secondary hinges each comprising a pair of of the links 31 so that the extensible hinge and hence the closure can open or close along a straight or curved path. A strengthening intermediate frame member (Fig. 14, not shown) similar to the movable frame member 21 may be povided. The movable member such as 21 is fitted with a locking device and the intermediate member may be provided with a vertically operable stop (211, Fig. 13) cooperating with a hole (205) in the floor.
