Abstract

1289161 Cutting apparatus JKO CUTTERS Ltd 16 Jan 1970 [16 Jan 1969] 2671/69 Heading B4B A machine for cutting sheet material, e.g. laminated plastics, comprises at least one pair of discs 27, 28, the discs being rotatably mounted in opposite direction on shafts 12, 13 whereby the material is cut with a shearing action as it passes between the discs. The discs 27 engage in grooves 29 formed in the periphery of the discs 28 and adjustable scrapers 39 are arranged to engage in the grooves in order to present the accumulation of waste material. The shafts 12, 13 are rotated by an electric motor 2 via a gear-box 3 and a chain-andsprocket drive, the sprockets 5, 20, 24, 25 of the drive only being shown. An adjustable guide (35, Fig. 1) and a pair of pressure feed rolls (37, 38) are provided. Pressure pads (32) are mounted on each side of the discs 27 thereby - stripping the material from the discs after it is cut.
