Abstract

1287056 Bearing seals SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 11 June 1970 [14 June 1969] 28399/70 Headings F2A and F2B A rolling thrust bearing is sealed by a cap 4 secured to one race 1 and extending axially to partially surround the other race 2, and a sealing ring which has a resilient ring seal 6 whose radial outer periphery is located against the inner periphery of an axially extending portion of the cap, and has a lip 12 engaging the race 1 and a skirt 7 engaging the race 2. The portion of the bore 11 of the ring seal adjoining the surface of the lip that contacts the race is tapered. The sealing ring may be provided with a reinforcing ring 5.
