128,611. Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor, Co., and Booth, H. Aug. 7, 1917. Floats for aerial machines.-A hull or float for hydro-aeroplanes provided with side planing-fins has the planking of such fins stopped off at or about the lines where they come against the outer face of the hull, and has the planking of the under surface arranged to extend longitudinally tor diagonally, so that where it is stopped off and faces the direction of motion, the planking is cut in a direction other than at right-angles to the grain. The upper planking 13 is connected to the lower planking 7 by a rabbeted fillet 14, and both sets are secured to the hull 10 by rabbeted fillets 12, 15. The fins may be strengthened by interior ribs.
