Abstract
1280136 Date indicating CITIZEN WATCH CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 March 1970; 4 Aug 1970] 25108/71 Heading G3T A setting mechanism for a calendar timepiece comprises an axially shiftable push-button operating rod 3 positioning, against the action of a spring 8, a lever 4. The lever carries a shaped member 6 which in the position shown, under the influence of gravity, enables the rod 3 to set a date ring 1. With the timepiece appropriately aligned the member 6 engages a day star wheel 9. In an alternative embodiment, a lever is movable under gravity in dependence on position to cause date or day setting gear wheels to be engaged. In a further embodiment, a pendulum member is positioned to determine that a date or day correction is initiated.
