Abstract

1276726 Cooking vessel supports R SMITH 11 May 1970 [28 May 1969] 26914/69 Heading A4A [Also in Divisions E2 and F4] A safety device for a cooker and a cooking utensil comprises complementary interengageable formations on the cooker and the utensil. A saucepan 10 is provided with three headed studs 11 on its base, spaced as at the vertices of an equilateral triangle, Fig. 2 (not shown). A plate 12 for attachment to a cooker comprises a central aperture with three notches 12a similarly spaced as the studs 11. The depth of the intermediate edges 13 is gradually increased in a clockwise direction from each notch 12a, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), so that when the studs 11 are placed in the notches 12a and the saucepan 10 is rotated clockwise it becomes locked to the plate 12. Alternatively, the bottom of the saucepan may be provided with the notches and the plate for the cooker carries comprementary lugs, Figs. 6 to 10 (not shown). The device may also be used for kettles and frying pans.
