Abstract

1,263,576. Expansion mullions. AMERICAN METAL CLIMAX Inc. 18 April, 1969 [20 May, 1968], No. 19988/69. Heading E1W. A split mullion, allowing for expansion, and used in a glazed or otherwise panelled wall construction comprises a substantially T- section member 15 which overlaps a substantially L-section member 16, panel engaging means being fitted to the leg of the T and the leg of the L so as to define with the crosspiece of the T two panel receiving channels. Sealing strips may be used between the mullion and the panels. The panels may be single thickness glass panels or double glazed panels. The panel engaging means may be of channel-section with a flange along one edge engaging behind flange 15m or 16m.
