Abstract

1,261,991. Threading up device for heaters. LEESONA CORP. 24 Jan., 1969 [24 Jan., 1968; 25 Nov., 1968; 4 Dec., 1968], No. 4060/69. Heading D1F. A device for threading up a heater 4 of a textile machine consists of an endless tape 9 circumscribing the heater 4 and carrying a yarn holding clip 14, the tape being in association with a drive pulley 10, a spring element 11 and an actuator mechanism 13. To thread up the heater the yarn is attached to clip 14, lever 13 is depressed thus applying tension to the tape 9 and causing the slotted spring element 11 to lower the tape into contact with the pulley 10. The moving tape then carries the yarn up behind the heater, over the top and down the front face where it is deflected into contact with the heater grooves 4, 1. The lever is released when the clip has completed one revolution. The actuating mechanism may be constructed so as to automatically index the tape one revolution. Such a mechanism comprises a stop 21 attached to spring means 22 such that when means 22 is in its relaxed position stop 21 engages lugs 23, 23a on the tape and prevents the tape 9 from being driven by a friction drive wheel with which the tape is always in contact. To index the tape one revolution, means 22 is depressed to free the stop and lugs so that the tape is driven by the wheel. The means is released when the clip 14 has moved past the stop 21, the tape making one complete revolution and then stopping owing to lugs 23, 23a again engaging stop 21.
