Abstract

1,261,086. Bobbins; yarn treating. E. JUNGBECKER, C. JUNGBECKER, G. JUNGBECKER, and J. JUNGBECKER, [trading as JOS. ZIMMERMANN]. 11 June, 1969 [15 June, 1968], No. 29536/69. Heading B8M. A sleeve of thermoplastic material, e.g. polypropylene, for the heat and/or wet treatment of threads and yarns having a cylindrical or conical shell, which shell comprises peripherally extending spaced apart rings 10 which are elastically and/or plastically yielding in the axial direction, and spaced apart rigid longitudinal webs 11, 12 connecting the rings 10, the axially consecutive webs 11, 12 being laterally offset relative to each other. The web and rings are equidistantly spaced apart, and the webs are offset by one half of the lateral spacing. The webs and rings are preferably formed integrally. In a preferred embodiment the rings 10 are of zig-zag configuration, the section between two longitudinal webs having two legs 13, 14 forming an angle at a point 15 or 16. The longitudinal webs are connected to these points 15 and 16. The sleeve simultaneously undergoes radial and axial compression in response to either a radial or axial force.
