[Also in Division H1] A ventilation system for a glass-house comprises at least one ventilator with a flap 10 pivoted about a horizontal axis, at least one fan, and a control unit mounted on the flap which is operable to control the output of the fan or fans and includes an adjusting member fixed to a spindle 14 which is irrotationally held by a weight 15. The adjusting member may be a slider cooperating with a resistor on the body 13 of the control unit, or a cam co-operating with a series of switches or a contact co-operating with fixed contacts for progressive fan speed control or for bringing in successive fans or exercising a stepwise fan speed control. A combination of resistors and switches can be used. Sensors responsive to temperature and humidity inside the house and to rain and wind outside may control the pivoted flap and may exercise additional control of the fan or fans. The flap is pivoted about its upper or lower edge or a central axis. Air inlet ventilators including such flaps may be arranged along a side wall of the house opposite to a wall containing air extractor fans controlled by the flaps. Alternatively, the fans may be arranged along both side walls and the ventilators in the centre of the roof.
