1,259,688. Vinyl ester/ethylene copolymercoated products. SHOWA DENKO K.K. and KOBUNSHI KAGAKU KOGYO. 8 April, 1969 [10 April, 1968], No. 17936/69. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] Substrates such as paper, textiles, glass and slate may be coated with coating compositions comprising aqueous dispersions of ethylene/ vinyl ester copolymers containing 4 to 20 weight per cent of ethylene and having a degree of polymerisation of 600 to 4,000. In examples glass and slate are coated with paints comprising dispersions of ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, clay, hydroxyethyl cellulose and ethylene glycol. The copolymer dispersion may contain polyvinyl alcohol, a water-soluble cellulose derivative or polyoxyethylene glycol as a protective colloid.
