Abstract

1,256,977. Adjustable seats. UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS CO. March 10, 1970 [March 14, 1969], No.13502/69. Heading A4J. A member e.g. an arm rest is pivotally adjusted about axis 12 by displacing an internal gear 16 to the right and thus allowing the teeth of 14 and 16 to disengage. This displacement is effected by pressure on button 20 in the end of the rest. A further adjustment about axis 12 is provided by securing the inner gear-wheel 14 to the fixed part with pins 15 parallel to the rigid axis of the gear, the pins fitting into some of a series of holes by which differential indexing can be carried out in known manner.
