Abstract

1,255,719. Dental mirror. B. F. VELLENDER. 17 Nov., 1970 [1 Dec., 1969; 6 May, 1970], Nos. 58598/69 and 21842/70. Heading A5R. A dental mirror comprises a housing 3 formed with a duct 6 terminating at one end in an aperture in said housing, a mirror 1 mounted across said aperture such that a gap 5 remains between the edge of the mirror and the rim of the aperture, and wherein the duct 6 is adapted to be connected at its other end to an aspirator. A tube 8 for connection to a supply of water or air under pressure may be secured to the outside of the tubular duct 6, the free end 9 of said tube 8 being directed towards the reflecting surface of the mirror. A control valve (not shown) may be provided in tube 8 to allow an intermittent passage of the water or compressed air. As an additional feature, means may be included to rotate the mirror about its central axis perpendicular to its face, for example, a turbine driven by compressed air.
