1,254,534. Haemostatic preparations. WALLACE CAMERON & CO. Ltd. 17 Jan., 1969 [13 March, 1968; 28 June, 1968], Nos. 12152/ 68 and 30827/68. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C4] Self-propelling, powder-dispensing compositions comprise a propellant consisting of a mixture by weight of 40% dichlorodifluoromethane and 60% trichloromonofluoromethane and a powdered haemostatic treating preparation for application to a wound as an aerosol and being substantially free from surface active agents and sulphur. The haemostatic preparation may include sodium alginate, anhydrous alum and/or aluminium chloride, and optionally an antiseptic such as hexachlorophene may also be present. The powdered haemostatic preparation may have a particle size of from 200 to 350 B.S.S. mesh and may include a void filler such as silica or ballbearings to assist in preventing agglomeration thereof.
