Abstract

1,254,076. Printing apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK WINKLER, FALLERT & CO. A.G. 28 Aug., 1969 [2 Sept., 1968], No. 42803/69. Heading B6C. A printing machine comprises a plate cylinder, a frame and a trippable offset cylinder in an eccentric mount. Two plate cylinders and two trippable offset cylinders may be combined in a five cylinder offset printing machine which may be set for two-colour printing with each of two blanket cylinders 2 separately in contact with impression cylinder 3, or may be set for perfecting by lowering each blanket cylinder 2 until they no longer contact impression cylinder 3 and instead act mutually as impression cylinders. Each blanket cylinder 2 is mounted in eccentric sleeves 13 in bearers 4 which can be rotated about the axis of a co-operating plate cylinder 1, by worm gear 9, 10, threaded spindle 11 and link 12. Stops 18, 19, 20, 21 limit the possible arc of movement of the bearers 4. Tripping of the blanket cylinders 2 is by rotation of the eccentric sleeves 13 in which they are mounted, within limits set by stops on the sleeves, on the bearers and on the machine frame.
