Abstract
1,253,878. Contacting gases with liquids. C. G. MUNTERS. 19 March, 1969 [4 April, 1968], No. 14450/69. Heading B1R. A packing for gas/liquid contact apparatus in which gas moves generally across and liquid moves generally downwards comprises folded adjacent plates 36, 38 of which the folds form channels, and slots 46, 50 through which liquid can flow from one side of a plate to another when it reaches the bottom of one series of channels and hence flow down another series of channels on the other side of a plate. Alternatively part of the plate may be cut off and placed in a reverse position as in Fig. 3.
