Abstract

1,248,035. Load handling pallets. ALCOA CONTAINER SYSTEMS (G.B.) Ltd. 17 Dec., 1968 [3 Jan., 1968], No. 481/68. Heading B8H. A bulk materials handling pallet comprises a vessel, with a body portion 1 and a hopper portion 5, detachably secured to a frame 9. The frame 9 has an upper portion 10 with inclined flanges 10a and vertical flanges 10b to engage the vessel adjacent the junction of the body portion and the hopper portion, and feet 14 to give clearance for the forks of a fork lift truck. Vertical members 12, extending between the feet and the upper portion 10, and mount brackets 15 for attachment with flanges 7 attached to the hopper portion. The vessel has a lid 2 with recesses 4 to receive the feet 14 of a stacked pallet and an inlet opening 3. The material is discharged through an opening 6 controlled by a valve (not shown). In an alternative embodiment Fig. 4 (not shown) a hopper portion (6<SP>1</SP>) is attached to the upper part of the body portion so that the vessel is reversible.
