Abstract

1,240,932. Feeding sheets. POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG VEB. 23 Jan., 1969, No: 3891/69. Heading B8R. Sheets are separated from a fanned-out pile 17 by a suction plate 5 slidable on a guide 4 carried by a vertically adjustable bracket 1 supporting rollers 3 containing the pile. Air is blown through a nozzle 9 pivoted on the bracket to loosen the upper sheets, and the nozzle is then pivoted clockwise by a cam 14 so as to raise the upper sheets off the pile, or alternatively is moved bodily upwards. The top sheet then springs on to the plate 5, whereupon the air is deflected downwardly by said sheet to press the rest of the sheets on to the pile. The nozzle is then pivoted counterclockwise by a spring 15 or is moved bodily downwards and carries a holding - down device 16 which presses down on the pile until the nozzle rises again.
