Abstract

1,139,267. Resin-elastomer compositions. TEXAS-U.S. CHEMICAL CO. 25 July, 1967 [10 Aug., 1966], No. 34020/67. Headings C3C and C3P. A composition suitable for making sponge comprises between 40 and 90 parts by weight of an elastomeric polymer and between 60 and 10 parts by weight of a substantially gel-free polystyrene or a substantially gel-free styrenebutadiene copolymer containing at least 60% bound styrene. Suitable elastomers are styrenebutadiene rubber and polybutadiene. Acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber, polyisoprene and polychloroprene are also mentioned.
