1,132,419. Plastics bags; labelling. LAMSON PARAGON Ltd., J. G. SPARK, and M. E. SPARK, [trading as INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS]. 12 July, 1967, No. 32044/67. Headings B8F and B8K. [Also in Division B5. A gussetted bag of transparent plastics for holding bank notes carries a label for receiving particulars of the contents. The bag is heatsealed at one end and the other end can be heat sealed after filling. The labels are secured to a gussetted web (Fig. 1) before this is transversely sealed and cut at 26 to form the bags. The labels are detached from a backing strip 11 when this is drawn over a sharp edge 17 and are pressed on to the web, during a dwell in its movement, by a presser 23, 24. The feed of the backing strip is controlled by a photo-cell 22 detecting the edges of the labels. The web is formed by lay-flat tubing gussetted at 6 and its feed is controlled by photo-cells 7, 8 detecting marks which are subsequently covered by the label. A warning device may indicate if two bag markings (or two labels) are fed in succession without an intervening label (or bag marking).
