Abstract

1,130,971. Cycle pedals. RALEIGH INDUSTRIES Ltd. 2 March, 1967 [30 April, 1966], No. 19089/66. Heading B7E. A cycle folding pedal comprises, a frame 12 mounting a spindle 11 and having a stepped down half-portion 12b<SP>1</SP>, and a platform 13 which extends over and may abut the portion 12b<SP>1</SP> and is provided with depending arms 13c having holes 17 receiving pivot pins 18 secured to the frame. The side 12a of the frame is extended to provide stops 16 against which the arms 13c may bear and over-centre springs 14 connect 12 and 13 so that the pedal is held in either its operative or inoperative position. In Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) the arms 13c are cut out at (13c<SP>1</SP>) to receive the stops 16 and the holes 17 are elongated to allow the cuts out and stops to be looked together by slight longitudinal movement of the pedal. The platform 13 may, however, be pivotally supported on an element separate from the frame 12.
