Abstract

1,123,434. Resilient seat suspensions. ETABS. SABLE FRERES. 27 Sept., 1965 [16 April, 1965], No. 41042/65. Headings A4J and A4U. A vehicle seat body 2 is adjustably suspended from a seat frame 1 by a resilient suspension comprising two springs 5, 6 disposed on each side of a hydraulic damper 10. Springs 5, 6 are coupled by a pin 7 fixed in a sleeve 9 in which hydraulic damper 10 is fixed. A screw 14 is provided to adjust the position of sleeve 9 relative to frame 1. A guide rod 16 fixed to seat body 2 passes through a lug 17 on sleeve 9. Connecting rods 19, 20 are fixed at one end to a pivoting tube 21 mounted on a pin 22 supported by frame 1. The other ends of rods 19, 20 are pivotally mounted on the underside of seat body 2. A damping block 36 prevents seat body 2 from hitting frame 1. A seat back 4 is adjustably mounted on a plate 27 provided on seat body 2. Frame 1 may be locked in an adjusted position on a slideway 34 by a lever 35.
