[Also in Division A4] An apparatus for producing iced cake comestibles comprises a cooking vessel 23 containing hot fat or oil K and an icing vessel 44 containing a fluid glazing L. One row of fried comestibles is lifted out of the cooking vessel 23 by a tray 84 and dropped on to a tray 76 to allow excess oil to run off. The tray 76 then drops the row of comestibles into the icing vessel 44, where they are lifted out by a tray 72 to allow excess glaze or icing to run off, and are then dropped on to the discharge tray 52.
