1,119,743. Moulding building elements. TEGELINDUSTRIENS CENTRALKONTOR A.B. 19 Jan., 1967 [21 Jan., 1966], No. 2915/67. Heading B5A. Building elements comprising facing units, e.g. bricks bonded together in a pattern, are made by placing the facing units held in their correct relationship, on to a fluid, semiliquid, soft or plastic paste or sealing body which wholly or partly covers the base of a mould and filling the joints between the facing units with mortar or a similar material. The paste or sealing body may be a thermosetting or thermoplastic resin which is soft when the facing units are placed on it and is then cooled, or it may be a flexible foam plastics material, foam rubber or sand. It may be coated with a membrane or thin foil to prevent capillary absorption and may also be coated with a release agent. The facing units are in the desired array when placed in the mould and may consist of irregularly shaped units. The final building element has a clean face, as the mortar is unable to pass the sealing medium to reach the face.
