Abstract

1,116,946. Loading trailers. R. S. GRIFFIN and D. G. WILLIAMS. 24 Nov., 1965 [25 Nov., 1964; 7 Jan., 1965], Nos. 47840/64 and 702/65. Heading B8E. A boat trailer has open ended load and support frames 50, 52 pivoted together near the end provided with road wheels 64. The frames are connected by pairs of arms 62 lockable in the extended position shown. To load a boat the frames 50, 52 are positioned on either side and the open ends are closd. The arms 62 are unlocked and a winch 58 is operated until a pilot wheel 66 contacts the ground in which position the two frames can be locked together with the boat raised in a position for towing. In a modification two open ended frames not pivoted together are joined by two pairs of links on either side.
