Abstract

Fly liberated from a cop or bobbin being unwound is entrained by means of a tube surrounding the cop or bobbin and comprising a plurality of telescopic tubular sections, one end section - as described the bottom section - communicating with a suction duct, and the other end section being movable into and out of sealing engagement with a fixed cap. The cap has a central aperture through which the yarn being unwound leaves the tube and through which fly is sucked from without. The tube is secured in its extended position either by each movable section having a stud pressed by a leaf spring into engagement with a groove in the next lower member, or by the sections being of frusto-conical shape with the top section being magnetically held by the cap by means of a magnet provided in the top section or in a rubber washer secured to the cap.
