Abstract

<PICT:1113364/C1/1> A glass article, e.g. a tube 1, is coated with an enamel in a viscous suspension 2 and simultaneously drawn out and the enamel fused at 8. The suspension agent may be glycerine, screen-printing oil or other material that volatilizes without residue at temperatures below the softening point of the enamel. A high melting point enamel may be used. Glass fibres and thin glass strips may be similarly coated and formed.
