Abstract

1,189,138. Photographic cameras. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Aug.4, 1967 [Aug.6, 1966], No.35947/67. Heading G2A. A diaphragm setting ring 9 carries a scale 7 of f markings which co-operate with a fixed mark 12. The ring 9 is locked by means, e.g., a leaf spring (not shown) to an adjustable member 4 carrying a scale 5 of symbols representing scene brightness and a film speed index 6. The locking means is releasable by a button 10. A shutter speed setting member 1 has a scale 2 co-operating with a fixed index 11. In operation, index 6 is aligned with the appropriate film speed value on scale 8. The member 1 is adjusted to set the required shutter speed as shown by scale 2 and member 4 is adjusted while locked to ring 9, such that the appropriate symbol on scale 5 is brought opposite an index 3, thereby setting the appropriate aperture on scale 7. If a different type of film is to be used, ring 9 and member 1 are adjusted relatively by first actuating button 10, to release the locking means.
