Abstract

1,187,140. Mixing apparatus. T. H. & J. DANIELS Ltd. 19 Nov., 1968 [15 Dec., 1967] No. 57220/67. Heading B1C. A mixer has a tiltable bowl 11, a mixing head 17 mounted on a hollow shaft 18 drivable at two or more speeds by a motor 19, and a stirrer 21 rotatably journalled in the mixing head 17 and reversibly driven with variable speed by a motor 22. Scrapers 26, 27 depend from the head 17 and cooperate with the inner and outer interior surfaces respectively of the bowl; they are angularly offset to one another and to the stirrer, and the scraper 27 is adjustable so that it can trail behind the stirrer in either direction, see Fig. 2 (not shown). There is a heating jacket 14 and bottom outlet 16. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 788,142.
